The Edition L’insolence de ses mélanges is based on visual material collected during a stay in Marrakesh and subsequently compiled in three publications. The leitmotif is the author’s subjective perception of the environment, which is supplemented and thus further aestheticised by visual samples. By juxtaposing these samples with the photographic impressions, a space opens up that allows for new loose and metaphorical stories around the place.

The work Le Ciel shows a chronology of views of the sky over Marrakesh. The dramaturgical sequence of the images served as an inspirational anchor point for the ambient artist Neozaïre: for each of the six chapters, an individual sound composition was created from abstract samples taken from old record singles with Maghrebi music found on site. The synthesis of photography and sound is further intensified in six film sequences that spring from the image series. Visually and aurally, the changing play of the sky over the city can be experienced intensively and in an almost psychedelic way.

“Le Ciel” was exhibited as a video installation in December 2021.
